About the artist
Olivia was born in 2000 near Cologne in Germany as a twin of her sister. She grew up in a small town in the middle of Bavaria near the Alps with her family and since being a child she has always loved drawing. In kindergarten she always painted with crayons and aquarelle and she even possessed a big collection of drawings on paper. Later in school she drew something after the school day because it was a way to let all her emotions out. Being a rather introverted school kid, she felt different and as though she did not fit in.
Although successfully absolving the fashion school of Hallein in Austria and receiving her Matura degree she knew that this was not quite her passion and art had stolen her heart for a long time, so she decided to become a professional artist and participated in the Mastery Program by the inspiring world renowned Milan Art Family that she had followed for many years..
At the age of 23 she finished the Mastery Program and is now a fine artist who sells her art self-directed. Her art style can be described as abstract realism portraying an adventurous atmosphere. She paints human figures from different countries, mostly women with animals in nature with abstract background and ethnic patterns or people together expressing friendship. In her painting process she uses high quality oil paint, acrylics, oil markers, crayons, collage, inks and gold leaf. She uses bold and radiant colours to make the faces utterly expressive.
She is inspired by the human mind and how people express their thoughts. Nature is also a great inspiration. She has a big curiosity for other countries and cultures as well as how different everyone on earth lives.
“I paint human figures from all over the world with ethnic background patterns. My artwork shows the beauty of diversity, different cultures and that we are all deserving of love and inclusion and endless freedom no matter our background or anything else. I think that art can express, what you cannot express with words, it is your feelings spilled on a canvas. I want to inspire people deeply with my art, touch their hearts, express human connection and celebrate the joy of feeling free together.” – Olivia Loosen
Olivia currently lives near Vienna with her boyfriend and travels to different countries once a year to gain new inspiration. She studies art and english at the university in Vienna to become a school teacher later on. Her future plan is to travel to many more different countries and seek for inspiring people to paint. In her future she also plans to give art courses and share her passion with like-minded individuals and do more creative projects.
